I really think I got across what I needed to in this picture. Snively feels like he's too corrupted for Celeste, but is unwilling to let her go though he knows he probably should. He finds himself fighting for her, to be free of the Source of All (before it's inevitable destruction), to find a place for them in spite of their species difference, his own wrong doings- obviously there's no possible way Snively can leave his way behind and even attempt a normal life after all he's done. What kind of life can he even hope to give anyone who isn't as corrupt and jaded as he is?

I guess in a lot of ways I imagine he'd forget that Celeste actually chooses to stay with him regardless, and is lost in a cycle of trying to figure out a way to be 'worthy of her'. Yes, on the surface he may boast, but under it all he can't forget that his whole life he's been the gum under someones foot.. That kinda sticks with you.
